Day 1THIMPU, India

Day 01: Paro Airport – Thimphu Sightseeing

(Distance: 65 kms. / Driving Time: 2 hrs. / Altitude of Thimphu:2350 mts.)

Meet & Greet on arrival at Paro Airport andtransfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check inat the hotel. Afternoon start for half day Thimphu sightseeing consist ofKuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue ofBuddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, King's (National) MemorialChorten - This Chorten was built in 1974in a typical Tibetan style. It is also a center of worship for the peopleliving in Thimphu. Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion) - The Dzongis the seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, includingthe summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan) at present. &Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 2THIMPU, India

Day 02: Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing

(Distance: 77 kms. / Driving Time: 3 hrs. / Altitude ofPunakha: 1310 mts.)

After breakfast drive to Punakha /Wangdue, On the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 mts.). to view the higherHimalayas. Arrival at Punakha check in at hotel. After noon visit Punakha Dzong- built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time ofthe second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named DrukPungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still thewinter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the firstNational Assembly here in 1952. Afterthat take a short excursion trip to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang - The Temple,also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “TheDevine Mad Man”.

Day 3PUNAKHA, India

Day 03: Punakha – Bumthang

(Distance: 212 kms. / Driving Time: 8 hrs. /Altitude of Bumthang: 2600 mts.)

Afterbreakfast check out from hotel and drive to Trongsa across Pele-La-Pass (11.120ft.) traditional boundary between east & west Bhutan, There is an adruptchange in vegetation, with mountain forest replaced by high altitude dwarfbamboo. Stop Enroute Chendbji Chorten - built in the style of the greatBodhanath Choten of Nepal. Further ahead visit Trongsa Dzong – It was the seatof power over central & eastern Bhutan and Ta Dzong - An ancient watchtower. The chapel inside is said to be dedicated to the Trongsa Penlop JigmeNamgyal. Then drive further to Bumthang over the Yutong-La-Pass (11,155ft.). While in Chumey valley inBumthang, visit the Yathra Weaving Factory - It is the most famous textileproduct of Bumthang. On arrival check in at the hotel.

Day 4BUMTHANG, India

Day 04: BumthangSightseeing

Afterbreakfast, 1st half visit Jakar Dzong: Literally meaning the Castle of WhiteBird. The current structure was built in 1667. Lamey Goemba: A large palace andmonastery built in 18th century by Dasho Phuntsho Wangdi Jambay Lhakhang: builtby King Srongsen Gampo of Tibet. In October one of the most spectacularfestival, “Jambay Lhakhang Drup” is staged here. Chakhar Lhakhang: Literally meaning the Iron Castle, theoriginal palace was made of Iron and hence the name “Chakhar”. Kurjey Lhakhang:Named after body print of Guru Rimpoche. Afternoon 2nd half Visit TamshingLhakhang: Literally meaning the Temple of the good message, established in 1501by Pema Lingpa. Membarstho: Literally meaning, “The burning Lake”.

Theevening ends visit a local handloom weaving house and Interact with theweavers.

Day 5BUMTHANG, India

Day 05:Bumthang – Punakha / Wangdue

(Distance:212 kms. / Driving Time: 8 hrs. / Altitude of Punakha: 1310 mts.)

After breakfast drive to Punakha. Reach Punakha bylate afternoon. On arrival check in at the hotel.

Overnight stay atPunakha/Wangdue.

Day 6PUNAKHA, India

Day 06:Punakha/Wangdue – Paro Sightseeing

(Distance:140 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Paro: 2280 mts.)

After breakfast drive to Paro (7,483 ft.). On the way stop atLamperi to visit Royal Botanical Park - The park contains a rich biodiversityof flora and fauna and features a huge species of plants and animals includingendangered species. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Ta Dzong- National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religiousthangkha, etc. Rinpung Dzong - Meaning"fortress of the heap of jewels". The dzong now serves as theadministrative and judicial seat of Paro.

Evening free for leisure.

Day 7PARO, India

Day 07: Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast start full daysightseeing covering Ta Dzong - National Museum with an excellent collection ofBhutanese antiquities, Rinpung Dzong - the administrative seat of the districtof Paro. Afternoon visit Drukgyel Dzong - The Dzong was destroyed by fire in1951 and is now preserved as heritage site & Kyichu Lhakhang - one of theoldest Buddist temples in Bhutan.

Day 8PARO, India

Day 08: Excursion to Chele-La-Pass

(Distance: 35 kms. One way / Driving Time: 2 hrs. /Altitude of Chele-La-Pass: 3810 mts.)

After breakfast excursion trip toChele-La-Pass (13,088 ft.) – the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Enjoy thescenic beauty & memorable landscapes from Chele-La-Pass. Back to Paro.

Rest of the day is free for leisure.
